Sony’s new WF-1000XM6 earbuds with upgraded noise cancelling

Sony has launched its latest flagship true wireless earbuds, the WF-1000XM6 in the UAE, promising stronger noise cancelling, improved call quality and a more comfortable fit.

The earbuds will be available locally from March 4, with Sony promising the XM6 as the next step in its premium 1000X series.

Sony says the WF-1000XM6 offers 25% better noise cancelling compared to the previous WF-1000XM5. The earbuds uses a new processing combination – QN3e Noise cancelling processor and Integrated Processor V2 – along with four microphones per earbud.

For calls, Sony says the new model improves voice clarity using a bone-conduction sensor and AI-powered noise reduction, aimed at reducing wind and background noise in busy environments.

The WF-1000XM6 also introduces hands-free access to Google Gemini, allowing users to interact with the AI assistant while on the move.

Sony claims the earbuds offer up to 12 hours of battery life with noise cancelling on, while the charging case extends total listening time of 36 hours. The earbuds support wireless charging and fast charging.

Alongside the earbuds, Sony also announced the WH-1000MX6 headphones in a new Sand Pink colour, which will also be available in the UAE from march 4.

Sony said the packaging for the new products uses paper-based material, as part of its wider sustainability goals.
